What do you call the person you're seeing?
6 Jul Dating site sportlinks.info tells us there are nine ways to describe “pre- exclusive relationships.” Is this really the way the world is going—relationships that can only be described as textable acronyms? No wonder when we break up with someone we say, “It's complicated.” We didn't even know how to. I'm not trying to establish ownership of another person. When they're more than a friend, more than just an occasional date, but less than a committed relationship, people DO ASK what the connection is between the two of you. I am not going to call him my sweetie or my honey, but "friend" is not something. 23 Jun The beginning stages of dating are awkward as hell, don't make it worse by not knowing what to call "the person you're seeing.
What do you call the person you're seeing? My daughter came up with a good one for the guy I'm seeing Meet singles at DateHookup. If I were seeing anyone, I'd just say My Friend, until something more defining came about. Don't know where it's going, if anywhere, but he falls right in with us and is a good match for the family, at least I don't use such words loosely.
As for introductions, you're at friend level until mutually decided otherwise. I might say a person is my "date" if we are just dating, but it's really no one else's business. Still, some ask or assume. We are not numbers,we are free people. When I am seeing someone,I always introduce her to people by her first name.
It's pretty cut and dry. What ever happened to just introducing them by their first name and leaving it at that! Why do you to have a label?
No decent person should be asking about a connection. Cheech and Chong that dates you. Did you have the album was the giant rolling paper in it - something about smoking a sock I think I would rather be introduced by my name.
I agree with the other poster, no labels. Oh, okay, Mendi, I use the term boyfriend. I agree with Matchbox Stick What Do You Call Someone You Are Dating names so you dont hurt feelings with introductions. I had you figured as being straight, for some reason But if someone, out of earshot of your date, asked you to define what the relationship was between the two of you, what are you going to call him?
One of the things that always makes me feel uncomfortable is how to introduce the person I'm seeing, or how to define what the relationship might be. How about calling him " My Sweetie". Friend until it goes beyond that, then hon or sweetie, sweetheart, but only if I mean it. Why do we need to give people a 'title'?
Mendi thats awesome hun, amazing how things work out sometimes. Trish, I thought in previous threads that you are a dude magnet? What is this about when stuff? However, that belly warmer comment was funny. ME a dude magnet?? LOL, umm no not that im aware of darlin. But thanks I think? People that like lables are insecure. I don't own anybody and nobody owns me.
I am a free man! Ownership in a relationship leads to one thing, the end of the relationship. People have got to be free!! I'm not trying to establish ownership of another person.

What Do You Call Someone You Are Dating occasional date, but less than a committed relationship, people DO ASK what the connection is between the two of you.
I am not going to call him my sweetie or my honey, but "friend" is not something he wants to hear either. He fears being dropped into the ZONE. He actually likes the term of "manpanion".
Dave's not here, man. Yea, guys if a girl you had been dating introduced you as her manperson you would like it right. Sounds like a gay way to say butte pucker. Do I look like the tokin' type? If you do not know where it is going, why bother to learn her first name???
Get my lovin' on the run? At his age I'm sure not going to call him a boyfriend. You can use that but I don't like the way it sounds.
Actually, if I am seeing them, I would hope referring to them as my friend, would be accurate, else she's gonna cost me a grand plus for a few hours. Generally if I'm seeing someone I What Do You Call Someone You Are Dating to them by their name to family and friends. When I'm first introducing them I still call them by their What Do You Call Someone You Are Dating If you are unsure of what you guys are yet, then I wouldn't put any label on him.
I've introduced guys as a "friend" and they got mad at me for it because they said I "didn't appreciate what we had". If nothing else, you can call him your manfriend. I think I would choke on the words, Randy I call him Sparky, cause he lights my fire I'm still not going to say those words ever again If he becomes my husband, then I'll tell people he's my husband Seems like the one I hear and have used and have been introduced as is- "this is my friend - insert persons name here" which is fine on a first or second date, awkard feeling if you've been dating awhile, kinda leaves a lingering question in someone's head.
I'm gonna refer to the next man I date as my love muffin or my cupcake or something really cheesy and awful. They're more than a friend, not a fiance' I referred to one in his presence as my "honeybunny" When I was in college I dated a Japanese girl that
What Do You Call Someone You Are Dating buddies called Sushi.
Haha Mendi, that's cute. I am all about using honey, sweetie, babe, etc when it's just the two of us, but I couldn't actually introduce him as that. Agree, it's odd when your somewhere in between dating and relationship? I'll stick with names. But then my friends and family are hicks too lol. What if your relationship hasn't gotten to that point? And trish, you're right. The "manpanion" was a bit of a joke, but my guy thought it was really funny.
He's pretty secure in his masculinity, and also in our companionate relationship. I could be wrong. After all, you ARE from Texas Manpanion is not a word I would use to describe myself.
I wouldn't call my dog a manpanion. I'm sticking with "This sweet young thing is Jane". Nothing, I simply whistle.
You know how to whistle don't you? You put your lips together and blow. Oh, you mean name. I say my squeeze. Hi mom, dad, uncle Jo, aunt Betty. Looky here, this here is my latest squeeze, ain't she cooool. Missing Very good answer As I said, he's secure in his masculinity I've never What Do You Call Someone You Are Dating like a slut Reach down and feel yourself and then tell me what it feels like!
